Lillian's Diagnosis

Life is full of ups and downs and bends in the road. The latest bend in my road is the diagnosis of breast cancer. It comes just 6 weeks after one of the highlights of my life, renewing my vows with Bill.
Here's the latest news:
This an update...don't know how long I will be doing this, but Julie will keep this going for us.

As you already know, I had my last "test" on Monday...MRI. We had our appt yesterday and results for the MRI are different than the original one. I have 3 area's of cancer in the right breast rather than two. The third one is very deep. They are all the same strain of cancer which is good! The large axillary mass is a lymph node. It is being fed and growing rapidly from the 3 area's.
I have 2 more Dr appt's on Fri. One with the Cancer Radiation Dr and one with the Medical Cancer Dr.
I have the day "off" today..I have been at Mo Bap every day .. I think it has been a week.

I will have nothing all of next week just eat "healthy" and rest as I will have surgery on Friday the 14th.
At this time a catheter will be implanted under my color bone on the left side.

Treatment after this preliminary surgery.

I will have Chemo Therapy for 3 months...this is to stop the progression and hopefully shrink the cancer as much as possible.
During this time, I will be checked by my surgeon along with periodic MRI's.
After the Chemo the first of the year, I will have my right breast removed, the enlarged lymph node and all the "healthy" nodes removed as a precaution. The last step to recovery will be radiation.
The good news is that there is no evidence of cancer in the right breast.

All the ground work has been set. I have a Support Group out of this world! I am so very Blessed!

Julie and Bill will work when they can..but one of them will be with me. At this time Julie will work and stay in her home during the week and then come "home" for long weekends. For now anyway until we get this all in motion.
